[ oushi is distracted for many reasons. first and foremost, that sense of foreboding clawing at the back of his neck, like cold fingers spider-walking their way up to try and get him to shudder, and the only reason he manages not to is out of sheer spite alone. this feels... major, in a way. something tangible, finally, in potentially cracking more of this hotel's mystery just at their fingertips... and he's here to bear witness to it. hell, he might even be directly involved, if natori lets him.
the other thing he's distracted by, quite embarrassingly, are natori's legs. if the man were to shift even just a tiny bit to the right, the fold of that flannel robe would no longer be doing its work to keep him completely covered and decent. trust that he wishes the reptilian part of his mind weren't always so loud, but alas. ]
Uh, yeah.
[ he drags his gaze back towards the cave, drawing a single finger up to scratch at his cheek. ]
[He nods to himself at the confirmation and continues poking his makeshift ink into the fabric, completely oblivious to Oushi's fixation on the hem of his robe. Luckily for Oushi's sense of propriety, he's very good at staying still as he works. He answers distractedly as he goes.]
It's a protective charm. We can't risk assuming that it will remain in the cave, so this will hopefully keep you safe from any accidental exposure.
[He finishes the final touch on the charm and holds it up for Oushi to see. In the center, roughly at eye level, is a stylized, calligraphed 覟-- made up of the character for intention from Oushi's name plus the character for seeing. (Like their written notes, Natori's penmanship is extremely well done, even considering the materials he had to work with.)]
It should be stronger because of the synergy between your name and the intent of the spell. [Intent again, and seeing when it's meant to use as a shield to prevent direct eye contact.] You probably won't be able to see details through it, but try not to push it out of the way accidentally. Better to glance down if you need to see where you're going.
